“An Admirer’s View: Phil Knight’s Reaction to NBA Icon LeBron James’ Game-Altering Shot”

When LeBron James created NBA history, one person stood out because they were missing their phone. It is unknown who this guy is. Do you recall a period of your life before the invention of cell phones when you were siblingless? Without using a camera or recording a video, how did you record memories? What was it like, too, to go to sporting events or concerts before social media? These are interesting questions to consider.

As I say this, I can’t help but laugh, but it’s true. People scrambled to capture the moment on their cameras as LeBron James accomplished something historic. It makes sense why; being able to preserve such a unique experience indefinitely is an alluring temptation. Unless, of course, you’re too laid back to give a damn about that type of thing.

Social media has become a major part of everyday life in today’s culture. People staring at their screens and taking pictures of everything are typical sightings. This is particularly true during important occasions, like the time James made his game-winning shot and the fans went wild. But if you look at the picture more attentively, you’ll see that there’s one individual who sticks out from the others. He’s not distracted by taking pictures with his phone like the rest of the group is. Rather, he is gazing intently at LeBron, and he appears to be aware of what is going to happen because of the smile on his face. So, the question is, who is this mysterious person in the picture defying the smartphone-obsessed trend?

Introducing Phil Knight, the co-creator and honorary chairman of Nike – a well-known brand across the globe. It was Knight who brought LeBron James on board with the company over twenty years ago, and their business relationship has flourished ever since. Alongside Bill Bowerman, Knight founded the brand in 1964 while they were both still in college. Originally, it began as a distribution company, but now it is valued at almost $200 billion and has teamed up with athletes from all corners of the world.
