When questioned about the possibility of NBA expansion to Las Vegas, James replied, “I think it’s only a matter of time, and I hope I’m part of that time.”

After the NBA renews its television contract in 2025, the league plans to revisit the issue of expansion. Construction of a new basketball arena in Las Vegas is scheduled to begin in 2026. All-Star Weekend has previously been held in Vegas, and the city also plays host to the NBA’s annual summer league and the U.S. national team’s training camp.

It appears that both Las Vegas and Seattle will soon get NBA expansion franchises.

James fired out this tweet as word of his postgame remarks began making the rounds.

James is no stranger to sports club ownership; he is a part owner of the Fenway Sports Group, which also holds stakes in the Boston Red Sox, the Pittsburgh Penguins, and Liverpool FC.

Michael Jordan amassed a fortune from the sale of an NBA franchise. The next man up is LeBron James.
