Basketball’s MVP LeBron James tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Savannah Brinson in a lavish ceremony at the Grand Del Mar hotel in San Diego on Saturday. The 28-year-old NBA star, fresh off winning his second consecutive NBA title with the Miami Heat, exchanged vows with Brinson at the hotel’s Capella Chapel at 4:30pm. The celebrations spanned three days, beginning with a welcome barbecue for guests including James’s teammate Dwayne Wade, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Gabrielle Union, and NBA players Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony.
Guests were treated to an extravagant affair organized by celebrity wedding planner Preston Bailey, renowned for his work on high-profile events. Despite initial plans for a smaller gathering, the event maintained a grand scale with a large tent erected outside the venue. Attendees, including around a few hundred close friends and family, enjoyed cocktails, dinner, and dancing to both DJs and live music, followed by an after-party in another part of the resort.
LeBron’s mother, Gloria, and her boyfriend Da Real Lambo were also present, alongside Maverick Carter, Carmelo Anthony and his wife La La Anthony, Miami Heat president Pat Riley, and head coach Erik Spoelstra. The couple, who have been together since high school and got engaged on New Year’s Eve in 2011, have two sons: LeBron Jr., 11, and Bryce, 6. They reside in a luxurious $9 million mansion in Miami’s Coconut Grove.
Savannah Brinson, known for her charity work and community involvement, has gradually stepped into the public eye since their engagement, supported by LeBron James’s encouragement to embrace her visibility. She has notably supported underprivileged girls by providing prom dresses in both Miami and her hometown of Akron, Ohio, reflecting her commitment to giving back to the community.
