Put Taylor Swift aside! Austin Reaves practicing with his Lakers colleagues
A rumor started circulating among the Clippers staff members that Taylor Swift and Auston Reaves were dating.
Prior to her connection to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, there were whispers in the summer of pop sensation Taylor Swift dating Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves.Even though Reaves quickly refuted the assertion, the beginnings of the story have come to light. Melissa Rohlin of Fox Sports asserts that a Los Angeles Clippers employee concocted the entire story.The Clippers’ Zain Fahimullah “fired off a tweet from a burner account on June 5 to fabricate that the two were spotted at a bar,” as Rohlin noted.
The tweet was viewed by 4.4 million users, and after an aggregate account copied it word for word, an additional 7.3 million users saw it. When he shared the story, Rohlin was reassured by Los Angeles Lakers fan Fahimullah that he had no malice.
Reaves gave the following explanation for his choice: “Austin is the trending boy, like the Lakers’ darling of the summer.” I recently learned that he signed this [$54 million, four-year] deal. The U.S. national team will have him on it. The distinction between Austin Reaves and Taylor Swift makes it far funnier. Austin is a rustic country boy, kind of like a farmer. And this wildly popular performer is none other than Taylor Swift. I probably went with him for that reason.
The popularity of the tweet astonished Fahimullah, he said.“I’m like, ‘What?!’” he exclaimed. I never put as much effort into a meme as I did this one. And that one that kind of went crazy is this one.Reaves, though, appeared to accept the news with grace.
According to Rhein, he said, “Woooooooow,” dragging out the word for a few seconds. That is wholly untrue. It’s hilarious.Although everything was quickly resolved, Reces still has to deal with occasional taunts from his teachers. On Tuesday, October 16th, the Losers will begin the 2023–24 season against the Denver Nuggets, who are ending their championship season.
